APPOINTMENTS

MAKING APPOINTMENTS

We offer online bookings for all doctors.

Patients who do not have an appointment will be offered the next available GP.

Please check with our reception staff if you are unsure if you require a single or double appointment for your consultation.

HOW APPOINTMENTS WORK

Doctors@Bayside endeavours to accommodate all patients’ requirements regarding appointments and every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time and health professional.

Emergencies are given priority and our support team will attempt to contact you if there is any unforseen delay or your GP has been called away.

Patients are welcome to walk in and see the next available GP, a choice of GP is not offered for this service and waiting times can vary according to the day’s appointments.

Longer consultation times and interpreters are available if needed.

OUTPATIENT CARE

CARE OUTSIDE NORMAL PRACTICE HOURS

Care outside of doctor’s normal practice hours are available:

  • Monday to Friday after 11:00pm
  • Saturday from 12pm until 8:30am Monday morning

Our after-hours locum service, DoctorDoctor, is available during these times. All our phones are diverted to their number, or they can be contacted on 13 26 60.

If seen by a locum doctor, a report will be forwarded to our clinic on the next business day and will be added to your file.

Doctors do not take calls from patients whilst consulting.

If you wish to leave a message for a doctor, all messages are passed onto doctors.

And if required, they or a staff member will call you back.

REMINDER SYSTEM

Our practice is committed to preventative care.

We will provide you with a reminder notice from time to time, offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care.

If you wish to NOT to receive reminders, please inform our staff.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this practice to maintain the security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of our team.

We take your concerns, suggestions, and complaints seriously.

As a professional courtesy, all complaints should be directed to the practice initially.

Your health and safety are our primary concern and we want you to be able to communicate what you are feeling or experiencing in the most effective manner so we can provide you with the best care that you need.

UPDATES TO MEDICAL & PERSONAL INFORMATION

We ask all our patients to update all pertinent information regarding that will affect their care. So, please do keep us informed of changes to your health or personal information.

These changes can include:

  • Updating your family and social history,
  • Changes to allergies from food or medication, and/or
  • Changes to your personal details such as your residential address, telephone numbers, emergency, and/or next of kin.

These things are critical to us providing you with the best care possible. So, kindly let us know as soon as you become aware of such changes.

LABORATORIES

ON-SITE PATHOLOGY COLLECTION

We offer on-site pathology collection through Australian Clinical Labs, the leading provider of pathology services in Australia.

OPEN:  8:30am – 12:30pm  |  Monday To Friday

Alternatively, our Practice Nurse is available to complete pathology outside of the hours listed.

TEST RESULTS

A follow-up appointment with a doctor will be required to obtain your test results.

Please make an appointment with your GP at the front desk 2-3 days after completion of all tests.

If a result needs to be dealt with earlier, our Practice Nurse will contact you to come in at a sooner date and/or time.
